Full Speed Ahead to 2019

Well things around here certainly aren't showing any signs of slowing down as we begin this countdown to the end of the year! We've got a lot of great stuff coming up in December and in the New Year, so take a moment to look it over and mark your calendars.

The USSD Orange County Tournament is this Saturday (12/8) at Santa Ana College. If you have not yet registered to compete and would like to take this final opportunity in 2018 to test your point-sparring and Katas skills, you still have until this Thursday to register. Click Here to head over to USSD.com to register, and Click Here to view the Tournament schedule of events for each division. To learn more about the USSD Tournament, see last month’s post. Our next in-house Dojo Tournament will be scheduled for April 2019, and the next USSD Tournament will probably be scheduled for June 2019.

Do you think we're the BEST Dojo in town? Then please VOTE for USSD Martial Arts for “Best Martial Arts Studio” in the San Clemente Times' “Best of San Clemente” contest. But hurry! Voting ends this Sunday (12/9). You can vote in as many or as few categories as you’d like, so while you’re there, please vote for our anti-bullying summer camp, Bully Blockers for “Best Camp For Kids”, and for our good pals CrossFit San Clemente for “Best Gym” and “Best Group Workout”. We really appreciate the love and support!

Coming up the week following the Tournament is the 6th annual Dojo Family Potluck and Photo Day! We’ll have a professional Martial Arts photographer on site to take pics of all the students in their coolest karate poses in front of a green screen so you can choose from tons of gnarly backgrounds. You can Click Here to reserve a slot for your photo shoot and see some samples.

The photographer will begin taking photo reservations at 10:00 am, with a group photo with all of the students and parents at 11:00 am. Feel free to bring all of your trophies and medals from 2018 so we can bling it out!

At 11:00 am, all of our students and their families are invited to the potluck while we finish up with photos. You can sign up at the Dojo to bring a dish or drink to share. This is always a fun and low-key event to celebrate another great year at the Dojo with all of our Dojo Fam! We hope to see you all there!

Hold on a second… We can’t continue until we congratulate our November 2018 Student of the Month, Blake M.! Judging by this photo, he clearly deserves it! Way to go, Blake.

Keep an eye out for our 2019 Calendar of Events so you can begin marking all of the Belt Tests, Tournaments, Summer Camps and more down on your calendars.

Happy Holidays! The Dojo will be closed beginning on Monday, December 24th, and will reopen ready to get after those 2019 goals on Monday, January 7th. If you plan on heading out of town sooner than the 23rd, please let your instructors know ahead of time so we can reschedule any missed lessons with you before or after the break.

Have a happy and restful holiday season, and we look forward to working with you to achieve all of your Martial Arts and fitness goals in the New Year!
